Dolphin Dude’s Journey

Production philosophy

Dolphin Dude is built on a simple belief:
The stories we tell about the ocean must reflect the people, places, and communities who depend on it.

Our production philosophy is grounded in three commitments that define how we create, who we collaborate with, and the impact we aim to have.

Our Promise:
Dolphin Dude will be a Canadian-made, ethically produced, community-powered animated series that champions ocean conservation and amplifies the voices of those leading change. Every frame will reflect our values: creativity, integrity, sustainability, and hope.

  • Made in Canada, by Canadian Talent
Dolphin Dude is a Canadian story, created entirely by Canadian artists, animators, writers, musicians, and youth contributors. The film is set on Canada’s coasts and celebrates the beauty, diversity, and ecological importance of our own waters.

By keeping production fully Canadian, we strengthen our creative industries, uplift emerging homegrown talent, and ensure that this story reflects Canada’s unique relationship with the ocean. We believe that Canadian animation has the power to inspire the world—and Dolphin Dude is our contribution to that legacy.

  • Protecting Artists, Protecting the Planet
We commit to a strictly no Gen-AI production pipeline.

Artificial intelligence tools, particularly in animation, threaten the livelihoods of artists, undermine the integrity of creative industries, and carry significant environmental costs due to their intensive energy demands. Dolphin Dude will only be created through the skill, imagination, and labour of real artists.

We believe in ethical storytelling, stories made by people, not machines. By rejecting AI-generated animation and writing, we protect the craft, preserve meaningful jobs, and reduce our environmental footprint.

  • Storytelling Rooted in Real Voices
At its core, Dolphin Dude is a community-driven conservation project. We work directly with Indigenous communities, youth groups, marine NGOs, scientists, and coastal residents across Canada to ensure that the film reflects real issues, real experiences, and real solutions.

Our partners help shape the narrative and guide the environmental themes, ensuring that the film uplifts the voices of those doing the work on the ground. Through this collaborative process, Dolphin Dude becomes more than entertainment, it becomes a platform for education, empowerment, and collective action.
